Well, I finally took "the" test to see my personality type. Results are below. The only thing I disagree with is the part where they say I will be a frequent blog poster. I don't think so far I've posted as frequently as I'd like to, but I guess we'll see. Now that I know what I'm *supposed* to be, then maybe I'll start adhering. Probably not.
Oh, and by the way, I can't believe I had to correct misspellings and grammatical errors in the results!

Mass Sweat--err--Garage Sale
I'm a little peeved that I worked for the last couple of weeks preparing for this garage sale, then I sweated for 16 hours this weekend in the Texas heat (over 100 degrees), and all I have to show for it is $45.50. I mean, c'mon people, that is ridiculous! Part of my problem was that I had my stuff overpriced for a garage sale. Even putting a "50% off" sign up for the clothes that had previously been marked for the Divine Consign sale wasn't good enough. But we're talking gently used boy's clothes that were originally marked anywhere from $2.00-$4.00. So, with 50% off, it would be in the $1.00-$2.00 range. Oh My! TWO DOLLARS for this CARTER'S sleeper!?? Well, we just can't pay THAT kind of money can we? It wasn't only the price. Apparently, it was my display method as well. I had lugged this clothes rack (heavy metal, and I don't mean Metallica) to the sale and that is where my neatly labeled clothes HUNG from. Apparently, this display method didn't go over well. People would rather crawl around on the ground, in the Texas heat, and go through piles of clothes. So around 1:00 on Day One, I decided, I would do what Christine/Sandy/Galena had done, which was to basically throw my clothes on the ground. I also marked them down to $.50-$1.00. I did end up selling some stuff, but not nearly as much as some of the other women. Granted, I think that girl's clothing usually sells better than boys clothes, but c'mon!!!
I'm also pissed that because I hand-marked most of my items down, I will now have to relabel everything for the abovementioned Divine Consign sale coming up in September. Not only did I add work to myself at the g-sale and still not sell them, but now I have to work again to relabel the ones that were already perfectly labeled for DC.
And then there were the shoes. Yes, I still have all of them. They will go to Goodwill I guess. Unless of course they find their way into my shoe rack again.

Foggy week
This week has been mostly a fog until yesterday. This is due to the narcotics that I must take heavily each month. You don't want to know, but I'm sure you can figure it out if you think hard enough. Anyway, so I haven't been feeling too well this week, and of course poor little Tyler has to suffer for it as well. We did get out of the house on Tuesday to have lunch with Laura Marie, and then on Wednesday to go to Mother's for dinner. Also on Wednesday, Bonnie came over and I helped her with some computer stuff. Tyler and her son, Christopher (1 yr.) had a grand time playing together. Of course, most of the time they just wanted to be right in the computer room with us! haha! It was great to see them playing together though. Not that big playdates aren't great, but I think they associated better in a one-on-one situation. Sometimes large playdates are a little hectic. This way, they could focus just on each other. He needs to do that with other kids as well. If Kami will have me next week, I'd love to do a small playdate at her house! Maybe I'll actually make it there one of these days. She keeps inviting me, and I've had to bow out for one reason or another. Let's see if she invites me again! ;)
Tyler has said "elbow" successfully several times in the last week, although it is rather funny that it will then erode into "bah-bow" and then he will keep saying it like that, no matter how many times I repeat "ELbow" to him. It is so funny to hear him actually saying, or attempting to say, words these days. I cannot wait for him to actually start making sentences. I hate saying that phrase though: "I can't wait for..." because I always feel like I'm wishing away his youth in some way. I want him to stay little, but I guess I'm also anxious for the next step. You can only hear "bah, bah, bah" for so many months without wishing for some sensical stuff.
Also this week I've been preparing for this "mass garage sale" with the I75 Mom's Club. I've realized more than ever just how much of a pack-rat I am. It's like I'll go in search of stuff to sell, and I end up keeping half of it because "I might need to use it someday." For cryin' out loud! It's been sitting in your closet for the last XX number of years and you haven't used it yet! (This is my internal battle that goes on.) Then there were the shoes. I tried desperately to get rid of some of these shoes. I did succeed with some of them. They are actually tagged and in a box. I just hope I don't pull them out of the box before laying them out for the garage sale. Other shoes never even made it into the box. Of course, I had to try them on, walk around a bit, asking myself how badly they hurt and if I thought maybe I could wear a thin pair of socks with them, blah blah blah.... I don't know what it is, but since I got pregnant, my feet grew. I'm serious. I used to be a dead-on size 7-1/2. Now my 7-1/2 shoes are SO tight on me. Why is it that my feet grew while I was pregnant? I have no idea. But I digress... what I was trying to say, and may have already succeeded in saying quite well, was it is very hard for me to get rid of stuff, even if I know I'll probably never use it. I need help!

Bug Guy
I finally called and got the bug guy out here today. Three bouts with ants all in the cat food was enough. He sprayed inside and out. And this man can spray, I tell ya'! After the last time he was here, I knew better than to leave anything of value on the patio, so last night, Robert and I moved a bunch of stuff inside, like Tyler's toys, Robert's work boots--basically anything we didn't want to be covered with bug spray. I have to hand it to him though (the bug guy)... this stuff he uses smells like absolutely nothing. He could be spraying water for all I know. Seriously, I know that isn't the case though. The last time he was out was a year ago, so I know he does a good job. Anyway (my Mother hates that phrase), as he was leaving, he told me not to water for a few days. I said, "What if it rains?" He's like, "Yeah right." So then about an hour and a half ago, Garland had almost torrential downpours of rain. I called him back and asked if he thought he'd need to come back and reapply on the backyard. He said he'd come back out Monday, then he commented how *funny* it was that I had asked about rain, and then it rained. Bapsychic? No, I just watch the weather reports and actually believe them sometimes.

Shoes in the Road?
I've noticed them before, but never really thought much about it until today. I saw 2 shoes in the road on the way to McKinney today. One was a sandal, then a while later, there was a tennis shoe. Makes you wonder how they got there. And they are never in pairs. It's like someone says, "Ok, I don't want THIS shoe anymore, so I'm going to toss it out the window." I'd like the hear the stories behind why there are shoes laying in the road. They could prove to be very interesting. Either that, or we just don't want to know.
Anyway, I was on my way to McKinney today for a playdate at Galena's house. Had a blast. So did Tyler once he got "warmed up" to the room. It usually takes him awhile. At first, he just clings to me like crazy. Then he realizes he can actually play with the other kids and have fun! Either that, or he can chow down. I tell you, every time I looked at him, he was grabbing food from somewhere else. I finally had to seriously cut him off. I thought he might explode! He kept cramming it in! You'd think I never fed him or something.

Weird Quesadilla Request (I guess)
So, I went to Target today to find all these summer sale bargains everyone's been talking about. I didn't find too much, which was a little bit of a bummer, but it was still good to just get out of the house without my little shadow. I adore that boy so much, but sometimes it is still good to get out and do a little shopping by myself.
So, on the way out the door, I stopped at the Taco Bell. I ordered food for Robert, myself, and then I wanted to get Tyler a chicken quesadilla. Mind you, they only come with chicken and cheese. I've ordered them before with beans also, but this particular woman (who, ahem, WAS a hispanic woman), gave me the weirdest look when I asked if she could add beans to it. She even CRINKLED up her nose in a distasteful manner, and said, "But it will burn!" I said, "It will burn? No it won't. I've ordered it like that before. What do you do, put it under the broiler?" She said yes. I said, "Well, just put the beans on the bottom, then the chicken and cheese. It will be fine. I don't think it will burn." She had such an attitude about the whole thing. I started wondering if it was me. Was this such a crazy request? Adding beans to a quesadilla? Will the earth open up and suck me in? Heaven forbid!

Gambling!
For the first time since Tyler was born, Robert and I managed to get away today, if only for the afternoon. We took a 1.25-hour trip to Winstar, a gambling place up in Oklahoma, just past the Red River. We had a blast, although I must say, it was not as much fun as Shreveport where you can drink while you're gambling, and you can actually play with REAL money in the slot machines. I guess because it's on an Indian Reservation, there is no alcohol. (I wonder if we could bring a cooler and go drink in the parking lot? haha) The other thing that was real strange was it was so quiet in there without the sound of coins falling into the bins in the slot machines. You must play with a "player's card" in all the slot machines, which means you put your card in, put the bill in the bill slot, and it "loads" your card up with monetary credits. I guess I could get used to it, although I'm the type that likes to feel and hear the coins.
So, after we got there, I pretty much did the slot machine thing. Before I knew it, I was down over $300. Robert kept giving me $100 bills. He wandered around for the longest time before he sat down at a blackjack table. From that point on, I knew where he was. He didn't budge the rest of the afternoon. The money goes so much faster when all you're having to do is hit a Spin button. No money falling out means it takes it much faster.
So, I was pretty depressed. I glanced over at one of those digital nickel slots that I always look at like they are a joke. I had even told Robert earlier, "You won't find me on a digital machine." So I was down probably $350 and I thought, well, we have about an hour left, I'll plunk a few nickles in. I figured at least I couldn't lose too much in a nickel slot. And then right before my eyes, 9 RED SEVENS appeared on my screen. I thought, wow, I bet that's pretty good! I ended up cashing out $283 dollars! WOW! I went running back to tell Robert, and to pay him back 2 of his $100 bills. I said, "I'm going back!" So I went and plopped down at another nickel slot (you know, the STUPID ones that NEVER would pay anything.) And then right before my eyes, 9 gold emblems were staring me in the face! WOW! I thought to myself, I bet that's pretty good! I ended up cashing out around $400 on that one! I could NOT believe it! It was so exciting! So I went and paid Robert back another $100 bill. Then I think I went and got crazy again and spent another $100. All said and done, I netted about $250 to the good.
Now THAT'S what I'M taw-kin about! :)
Oh, and Tyler was the perfect little baby (toddler) (I'm in denial still) for Nana all day, except for when she tried to put him down for a nap at her house (big surprise). She said he started making the weirdest crying noises that she's ever heard--almost like a wheezing. He was obviously very distraught, so she just got him up, and he was fine, playing in the backyard, in the baby pool, running around! He just will NOT sleep anywhere but his crib or the carseat. That's my boy!

Stupidity Abounds
The Sears guy JUST left. And talk about stupidity. Somehow the setting for the freezer had gotten bumped ALL the way up, which then closes off the door from the freezer to the refrigerator, which makes the ref. get warmer. Argh! It is really a poor design when you think about it. The 2 adjustments inside the ref. are easily pushed by a tall jar or milk carton or whatever. So I just paid $128.82 for him to adjust the settings in my ref. to the proper settings, clear out a clog in the drain hole in the freezer (was NOT contributing to the problem, but it still needed clearing I guess), and to use a vacuum to get the dust off the front ?compressor? I think. Oh, and I got to clean under the ref. while he had it pulled out too. Yuck, that was gross.
Why am I feeling so bad about this blog?
Isn't that what a blog is for? To bitch, gripe, piss, and moan about stuff? Or do some of you people actually use it to keep up with family and friends?
And another thing...
Another thing that has ticked me off this week: How come you buy a deep-freeze to be able to store things for a long time with no freezer burn, and you still get freezer burn? I guess stuff only lasts so long, even in a deep-freeze with no automatic defrost. Iwent to get ice cream last night, and you should've seen this stuff. It was like ice crystals. Then I went to our regular refrigerator's freezer, and there was a little dab of vanilla in a container, which I promptly spit out as it hit my mouth (I hate the taste of freezer burn). So then I saw some ice cream sandwiches.... guess what....FREEZER BURN. Needless to say, I didn't get my ice cream fix last night. I settled for a stale chocolate chip cookie.
Four-Hour Windows
This must be my week to be pissed off about stuff. So here I've been waiting since 8:00, HOPING the Sears guy would be here "any minute." This makes me very anxious. Just me I guess. Then he calls me just now and says he won't be here until probably 1:00. AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! These people must think all we have to do is wait around for them. I HATE THIS. I've got other things I need to do today and only a small window when I can do it between his naps. I think I'm starting to PMS too, so I guess that probably isn't helping. Just had to vent.
The other thing that made me mad this week is taking some of Tyler's clothes to this consignment place. Try lugging a whole armful of clothes into a store, keeping hold of a toddler at the same time, only to find out that they only want to buy TWO of the 30 or so items you've brought in. Way too picky! I did not understand their criteria. I mean, the kid is only like 17 months old. His clothes can NOT be already "out of style!" Most of them were in really good shape. I couldn't believe it.

My first damn blog entry
I guess it's inevitable that I get a blog. I have been resisting for long enough. It probably won't be the most fun blog you've ever read. I tend to have a poor outlook sometimes, but not all the time. I shouldn't be that way because I have the most beautiful little boy in the world (inside and out), so why am I not happy? Maybe it's in my nature to NEVER be completely happy, no matter what. That's not to say that I don't treasure all the good in my life. I do appreciate everything I have. I do thank God on occasion for giving me what I have. And I do realize just how lucky and fortunate I am compared to a lot of other people in the world. I think it's just a character flaw in me or something.
